1917 vs P14 question: same handguards?

    Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if the 1917 handguards are the same as those for the P14. Anyone has tried to interchange before?

The front handguards will interchange. An M1917 rear guard can be fitted to a P-14 rifle and vice versa, but unaltered ones will not interchange because the barrel contours are different. Also, the front rivets of the M1917 rear guard are back further than those in the P-14 guard, though that would not effect interchangeability.

    Hi Jim,

Thanks for your reply. So if I understand, I can get a M1917 rear handguard but I wil have to work on the inside face for proper fit? I'd be ok with that.
