Go with Chuck. I had him put a Criterion barrel on a M1917 receiver a few months ago and he did a great job with a very short turn around. I will respect his wishes and not post the cost online, but it was very reasonable even after figuring in shipping to him and back. Lets just say that even with shipping, it was a better deal than having a local smith do it and Chuck had a quicker turn around time.

I dropped an action off for Chuckindenver to rebarrel. I've never seen any posted results on how the Criterion barrels are working. What kind of group sizes is everyone getting?

My reason for asking is that I'm curious just how accurate these barrels are.

    Thanks for your comments!

    chuckindenver's the way to go!

    Hello!
Chuckindenver replaced a trashed barrel on an M1917 I had inherited with a new, Johnson Automatics barrel I got lucky and stumbled upon. The price was right, the barrel was timed properly, the parkerized finish was good, the turnaround was quick, and there was minimal zeroing to be done once the rifle was returned. Plus, he included a fired case to verify proper headspacing. Thanks again, Chuck!

jmauer, I think I saw your barrel at Chucks prior to installation. Too bad he didn't have two of those JA barrels!

How about some range reports for Criterion barrels from anyone?

Accuracy with my criterion is great. You can find parts at Springfield Sporters, Sarco or Numrich.
