Arrow Enfield No.4(T) Sniper Rifle on Auction Arms #7924027

Here's one for you guys in Canadaicon into collecting Enfields, who know how to import from the U.S.

    Auction Arms - Lee-Enfield -- Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk 1'T' Sniper rifle (click here)

    Seller's Description:

For auction is one Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk1 'T' Sniper rifle with scope in excellent condition. The rifle is a BSA 1944 Stamped M47C (manufactured at BSA Shirley - Birmingham, Englandicon) and is all matching with serial number on bolt, receiver, forearm etc. The bore is excellent and the finish on the metal parts is 95% or better. Wood is in glorious condition and pretty much unblemished. The rifle has an 'England' import mark stamped on the front of the receiver (see picture). There is a TR stamped on the buttsocket indicating that the rifle was selected for sniper setup by Holland and Holland. The H&H 'S51' stamp is underneath the butt and on the right side of the receiver is the 1/4 inch stamped 'S'indicating that the iron sights did not need to be rezeroed subsequent to setup as a sniper. There are armourors stamps on the Stock indicating acceptance into service. The Telescope is a No.32 Mk3 Scope marked with the red W (waterproof) and manufactured in 1945 by A.Kershaw and Sons (AK&S, Leeds, England). It is from their last block of 2000 Mk3 scopes with serial Nos from 22000 to 23999. It is in excellent condition and the turrets, though stiff, work perfectly. There is a speck of dust on the crosshair internally but this does not effect the sight picture at all. External finish is 95% except for the area where the scope covers rubbed slightly. Again see pictures. All indications are that the scope and mount have been changed in service. The area where the scope serial is normally stamped on the wrist of the butt shows signs of having a previous number erased, and while there are numbers on the mount which correspond with the rifle the scope number does not. I want to be absolutely clear that the number on the mount looks like a BSA rifle serial number (X32222) and this is NOT the serial number of the rifle. This number has been stamped on the forearm and butt though missing one digit. The scope has been in this mount a long time, the mount has numbers stamped on top and bottom which correspond (see picture) and the screwheads are un-burred and in good condition looking like they have never been loosened. I am well aware that by splitting this set up I could make more money from selling parts on ebay (you'll see a scope and mount going there for approching $2000 right now). I choose not to do this and wish to sell this set to someone who will keep it together, look after it, shoot it, and keep it and cherish it. I am only selling to finance another and rarer Enfield sniper rifle. FURTHER INFORMATION. Last night I removed the buttstock to confirm that the serial number is stamped on the lip of the buttstock under the buttsocket. This was only done upon stripping at Holland & Holland for setup as a sniper. I can also confirm that inside the handguards and forearm the serial No. is still written in pencil which was also done to ID the wood to make sure each part went back to the correct rifle. I also found in the buttsocket the pull through and oil bottle which had been there for a while. Can't promise they're original but they're back in there and you get them with the rifle. Also the serial number is stamped on the barrel on the left side under the forearm so this is 100% original. I have added a couple of pictures taken last night.

    Payment and Shipping Instructions:
Will accept PAYPAL preferably or a bankers check. Personal checks must clear prior to shipping. Shipping will be by U.S.iconground to FFL holder only in the lower 48 States. I think that shipping costs should be less than $30 but I'll advise.

    SOLD - $2,099.00 U.S.
