    2. Description
This year I managed to find a Sterling Mk8 for sale, only 70 were ever made...making it rather a rare bird, especially in the States. 15 of the 70 Mk 8's were still in inventory at Sterling, when British Aerospace closed
Sterling down. She finailly got to come home from the NFA dealer today.

p99guy Thank you Brian. I wish we knew more about the MK8 than What was written about in The Guns of Dagenham. This one Don't have any of the "CBS" markings (written about in the book. I have talked to one other person that has one saved away unfired /in the box that does have the "CBS" markings....So I can only conclude mine was destined /marked for the euromarket, as mentioned in the book they did'nt want to mark it in a way that confused Batf (such as the SMG and L2A3 on mine)
Mine has the usual Dallas Tx,importer marking then painted at the factory.....but it has a second Importer marking on the front of the magazine well (AW Trading & Investments, Penelas Park Florida) and it is through the paint to bare metal.

Imported after lanchester in Dallas ceased importing Sterlings????? Peter Laidler may know more of the story...ooooh Mr. Laidler!

Brian Dick Nice! I'm a die hard fan of the L2 in all of it's confiigurations. It's the Roll Royce of SMG/Carbine design. Congrats on your purchase. 10-18-2009
