Description
This came to me after my father died. he bought it from a neighbor in 1964 whose grandfather was in the civil war. it is a 1862 colt pocket navy. with all matching serial numbers. Gun retains 89% of it's origional blueing, cylinder engraving and about 40% of it's case hardining can still be seen. all nipples are clear nd uncrushed, bore is good with a few minor pits, and grips retain origional varnish. i have searched for years comparing there guns and prices. most dealers i take it to have there mouths fall open at sight- then the BS starts as they try to get it from me, I am well awair of what it is worth and what the current market values are. there are less than 200 known in there origional configuration and there were only 19,000 made. they really do think your stupid-RIGHT it is for sale when i find the right buyer
Note. Colt Pocket navy revolvers for the military did not have plated backstraps or trigger guards!!!! DO YOUR RESEARCH and forget about records on these from colt, they were distroyed in a fire at the colt plant in 1873
