      This is the earlier 1945 issue with the Mod 98 moved to the top of the receiver ring and the "byf 45" below that. Later in '45 they switched to "svw 45"

      Being a '45 K98 there were not near the marked parts as on the earlier rifles. This one is totally matching though.

      An interesting thing about this one is the serial number at 8270a is higher than the highest SN observed for this variation according to Law's book (1st edition)!
