My 2179 is actually 002179. I did not realize the 0's could make a difference

I have 2179 but the barrel is not marked. All GI parts. Maybe sold as a bare receiver?

I recently picked up a Type 2 NM at the LGS. Serial 6083994. I got the CMP letter saying it was sold as a NM August 21, 1958. It appears to have gone back to Springfield to be updated to Type 2 specs...
