Thanks - Do anyone know what type of tree was used for the stock? Cherry? Birch?
Thanks
I took the dust cover off, and it is already stowed away, separate from the rifle. I attached a photo of the bolt grouping. If you look at the bluing color, the line between the white and color looks...
I received and just finished cleaning a Type 38. Everything that has a 3 digit number on it matches to the assembly number of 361 or the receiver's last 3 of 009, except for the dust cover. Looks...
Based on the two specific requirements (slender 13 year old / economical) - I would go with the Savage .243 that was suggested earlier. They are definitely inexpensive, and they definitely will work...
Thanks all - it sounds like a consensus that the operational behavior for the Winchester is exactly like the Remington and Eddystone.
I have a friend who has a very nice Winchester 1917. He has never taken his bolt apart and I was demonstrating "how easy" it was when I found out it wasn't so easy. I was doing the nickle coin trick...
They are. Fast typing typo.
I was sort of surprised that the P08 Luger wasn't in that list either. It is probably one of the most recognized pistols in the world, and is a member of the few early designs at the turn of the...
Johnny,
I have been using those boxes as well with the double side paper he offers. Does the VPI paper offer any benefit over what I am using?

Pat
I know nothing about these, but I did observe that it has two different set of numbers on it. Compare the cylinder shot with the bottom of the grips.

Here is my latest M1917. It's a Remington that has the original bluing, and all Remington small parts, except for extractor, the magazine floor plate, and magazine follower, which are "E" marked...
Thanks for the tip on Springfield Sporters. I have a Remington 1917 enroute that I is suppose to be original finish, original wood, with all Remington parts except the bolt.
As a novice myself who is still in the learning mode, I purchased Clawson's "Collector's Guide" first, then Poyer's more recent book, "The Model 1911 and Model 1911A1 Military and Commercial...
Looks like my biggest photography no-no's are the use of a white background, and the use of direct light (both indoor and outdoors). Could some one elaborate on some simple methods to create indoor...
It has arrived. It included a letter stating that additional regulatory information would arrive within 10 days. So it looks like took around 6-7 weeks to get receive it, once it was submitted.
...
Well going on 7 weeks now, still haven't received it. Has anyone submitted an application since Obama was sworn in?

I grew in that area around the old Dade battlefield and that area has lots of pre-civil war artifacts as well as Seminole indian artifacts. I found a solid cannon ball in between Ridge Manor and...
Thanks Bill- That is a pretty good site, but apparently Type-26 production data is an enigma.
Maybe I should create a dedicated Type-26 collector's site, then the 28 people in the world that...
I figured this is the closest I could get for the right crowd in the know. I have a Type 26 Revolver and holster that I am thinking about selling. The pistol is in fair shape, and the holster is in...
Oh Yea ! More guns left for me to obtain!!!
BTW - if you need an orphanage drop zone for any of them to reduce the crowding, let me know.
Now your just putting salt in my wounds....LOL
Was yours a recent application request?
Just hit the 4 weeks mark, so it will probably be here tomorrow.....
Carol Merrill is telling me to take Door #3.
Bruce - any pre-issue visits?
Well, I will see how long my takes to process. I have heard tale of pre-issue visits from an agent, so will see if I get it before summer.
