Thank so much everyone! Lots of people to research. I feel like Countess Constance Markievicz is a good pick for my fiery Irish wife.
Hello everyone. Here is an idea I think this forum might enjoy. My wife has decided to begin writing a WWI themed dinner mystery theater piece entitled "Who Killed the Archduke?" She has turned to me...
Ah okay I get it now. Thank you guys for all the info and compliments! I had a Yugo "capture" 98k for many years but it was sporterized and I had very much wanted a "real" one. I'm glad my first step...
Don't see any stock cartouches, also, I do not see an import mark anywhere on this rifle. Can you please explain how you can identify Spanish use? Thanks.
Thank you all so much! I'm glad to know there is hope for this rifle. Having seen it shoot and having very much wanted one for some time I was very disappointed at the condition. As soon as I get a...
Here's some more pictures. I couldn't find an import mark, but maybe it is very lightly struck. There are no stamps on the stock, but there are what look like initials carved into the finger groves.
Very cool. I'll have to look into it. I haven't had a "project" gun in a long time.
Thanks for the advice guys! A bit to mull over. Yes, pretty unhappy about it but we'll see how things shape up. It's actually accurate. I saw the previous owner shoot nice 3inch groups at 100 yards....
Hello all. I purchased this recently and I am somewhat unhappy with the condition. It is an IDF 98k in 7.62 NATO. The previous owner was asking a good price, and he had been using it during his...
Around me most Type 99's go for about $150-200.
Bore honestly looks better than most of my other rifles actually. haha. Looks like it has had rounds through it, but otherwise perfect. I'll try to get better photos soon. How do you know it is a SCW...
You mean a Savage No4? A No 1 would surely be very rare.
Don't know about Australia, but warning shots are very illegal here.
Hello. I am looking at this rifle. Bolt is mis matched, otherwise matching numbers. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
Just so everyone is aware, that website is a "satire" or "fake news" website. So, yea.
I recently picked up this Israeli rifle. I have been reading a little about these, especially the converted ones, but I have a little confusion. I know that Israel received surplus rifles from...
In my area I think it would top out at $2,000.
What geographic area? Last one I saw here was $3250.
This might not work, I know reproduction ones are sometimes 10 rounds but are still the same dimensions. For what it is worth, all the 10 rounds magazines I have purchased off fleabay held 15, lol.
Nice!
A great share! Thank you for giving us all a chance to take a look at it.
thanks!
Thats some interesting first hand accounts. Do you mind if I use some of that info and you pics on my blog? It's in the sig line. Thanks.
Seems to be a fair price. Can't help with the bayonets, but I am curious, isn't that bottom rifle in the 1st photo a "substitution rifle"? It looks like to me and in the more detailed photos too....
These things are great! I've had one for awhile, they are great to shoot. People always try to figure out what they are too whenever I take them to a range. Good to see more out there.
