Polished and sandblasted ….. I would say the sandblasting was only a light touch to take the shine off the polished ones and give a better finish for protection, oil etc.

Interesting thread, the best results I,ve ever had with traditional Bluing ( Rusting ) was cleaning the item in all manor of cleaning products, then actually using a sliced lemon to rub all over,...

That’s Correct, but they were linished and re engraved with the L42A1 as we know of today, my own L42 is an ex trials one, it appears on the “ List “ twice.

Just need a picture or two of the serial number type face, and the location, don't need to see the number so it can be photo shopped etc as long as I can see were it lies in relation...
