Quite interesting how in 50 years we've come full circle. From chopping down $20 rifles to make cheap deer guns to putting them back original to make $400-$800 collectables...
The "RLB" inspectors mark is definitely counterfeit. Some of the others are very unusual. The serial number range is a little high for a lend lease based on the ones I have experience with. One of...
Azsixshooter, here are a few oics of my 1916 Spanish in 7x57 for comparison. The rear sight is rather unique to these rifles. I removed the barley corn front sight protector for a wider sight...
I also have owned several and handled many more of these Spanish 1916 small ring mausers and agree the one pictured is an exact example. These were originally 7x57 mauser then at some time thereafter...

Two interesting custom mausers, should make good deer getters:thup:. The one with the redfield mount attached may be Belgian in origin. I say this because of the flat radius cuts on the edges of the...
I owned a 1954 and a 1956 FR-8, shot a variety of NATO 7.62x51 in each with no problems at all. I will admit some of the hotter stuff thumps hard out of that short barrel...
I am new to milsurps.com, I have read many threads over the years when searching out information and research on the pieces I buy and trade.
In regard to this thread of British 1903 Remingtons, I...
