Yes I'll second that. A house fire i hot enough to effect the tempering of the receiver making it soft. What did chuck have to say on that issue? Did he do a heat treatment on it or just refinish it?...
Shoot him a PM, he's a member here.

It depends on condition, whether it's been modified in any way or reparked, etc. Ask Herschel, he's an expert.

The weak link of most co2 or pump air guns is O rings. If it's the 70s rifle, it may have split one somewhere. If you Google the model number you may be able to find an exploded diagram and parts...
It may be a replacement barrel. Any evidence of a rebuild? If it was assembled in 38, I would think it would have the newer bolt.
I was thinking about the Marines polishing a bolt, I speculate...
Yes very nice. Looks like it would be a fine shooter.

According to the charts on vishooter's page, singe hole would be correct. Not sure on the bolt polish, I suspect yes for competition purposes just to make it glide more smoothly.

Interesting that they didn't shorten the barrel like they usually did "back in the day".

Can you post some pics?

In the past some posters had to fiddle with the inletting with a Dremal tool to make it fit correctly. I don't know if that problem has been solved.

OK so here's what's going to happen: the buyer will get cold feet and bail. The seller will re-list it with a starting bid of $1900. You'll see. :D

Ditto. Drool... great now my keyboard won't work.

Great looking rifle! Nice job! :beerchug:

Another option is to get a USMC sight cover which is larger. Repro ones are easier to find than the real deal.
-Jeff L
If your going to shoot it, you may not like the sight picture as the top of the protector comes very close to the sight. Maybe other here have experienced the same thing.

Ask chuckindenver for a price. He has references from members here and CSP. He can show you pics of his work.
How much did it set you back? I've read about a few guys who win bids on 03a3 sporters...
I'll second what John and chuck said. I've heard the SCs are very accurate.

Jim Tarlton used it. Here is the thread (scroll down).

Could you post larger pics? Those are pretty small. It would make it easier to comment.

Maybe they meant to write 1914?

Sunday March 14th.

Ask the seller to retake the pictures with the macro setting on (flower symbol) to get the close ups clearer so you can actually identify things.
It's buyer's market. I paid close to that for a...
Brophy's indicates it could be either.
