A wise plan. Thanks Steve.
Thanks fellas, I've sorted it now. I loosened off one of the alllen screws that holds the back end in place through the rear sight holes. I still can't work it out - could the tension on that screw...
Good evening everybody,
I am just wondering if I amd missing something or being really stupid.
I have just put an Accumounts (no smith) mount on a 1942 Savage MkI* but I can't get the bolt to...
OK, thanks. I'll get some pics.
Hello Everybody
I am about to ship one out as part of my summer clearance scheme. I know next to nothing about compasses. The one I have has the protection bars on the outer case. It is a MILS...
P.S. I replaced the grey butt plate with a brass one and the battle sight with a ladder. And NO I didn't get rid of them - they are in a grease bag just in case they need to go back on. I just love...
Here's a couple of my 1942 Savage MkI*. The wood is birch.
Steve
I thought that too. But wouldn't two holes so close together weaken the receiver?
Thanks Peter
Do you think that this lower bracket in turn went onto another piece? The curvature of the bracket does exactly fit the curve of the Enfield receiver wall though. I was wondering...
Thanks Surpmil
That could all be a good call actually. The bracket seems to look better on a Long Lee than it does on an SMLE.
I've never held a Ross, so thanks for the confirmation that it is...
I know I'll regret it but I want to buy a couple of LECs and I need the dough so I am going to sell it. It's on WTS.
Cheers
Steve
It looks fine enough to me.
That's a really nice one.
I don't know about what they are truly worth (as opposed to what some have been sold for) but I think we could consider that they are a bona fide conversion but must be...
Any pics of this baby Mac?
Thanks Roger
A couple more pics of the base mount are attached. No markings.
I am not sure how the zero would survive the recoil. I was wondering if it may have been a mount fashioned for a...
I have seen one or two of those sell for about £400 here. I think that the RFI conversion were meant to be used with shorter, fire-formed brass cases rather than the standard .410 cartridges weren't...
Is it one of the conversions that has a wooden floor stuck into the mag well?
Steve
Come on fellas. Don't let this go off the front page, I need help here. Where are the scopies when I need you most?
What about that weird mount?
Cheers
Steve
G'Day - one for the Doc?
Here's some pics of a PPCo Scope that I have. I've only really just got around to looking at it and researching it.
It appears to be quite an early one as it has Patent...
Hello everybody
I have a bit of a dilemma here. I saved a L.E.1* converted to .410 last week. It is a 1900 Enfield. It is marked to the Royal Marines and commissioned in September 1914. So it is...
Thanks Rob
I just replied to this and then pressed the wrong button so I have to do it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a mystery but that's what makes these things interesting isn't it?
I think...
Thanks Rob
That's useful information. I did think there was a bit of time overlap. And it has BC on it rather than BVC and the rack number is quite high for a small unit. It doesn't really bother...
"Ok, it sounds like you have a "Stand, Instrument, No21 MkV"
That's the job, thanks Son,
Was there a different tripod specifically meant for the telescope?
Even sitting down a guy must...
OK, I plugged the holes and it looks pretty good.
The holes on the receiver wall are almost invisible now. I'll post some pics if anybody is interested but you cannot really see anything...
Hi
I have searched for it but can't find it. Can anybody tell me where that series of items about desirable rifles is now housed? There used to be a different one headlined each month, with...
