Nice work. Don't think I've ever cut a straight line line in a piece of wood.
A seemingly ordinary guy, on an ordinary day...
Yep, it's been a good 15 years since the tool truck guys offered two types of calendars for the wrenchers.
Could well be the second Bavarian contract. Those purportedly lack the letter suffix. I have a 1918 about 1000 later than yours that also lacks the letter suffix, but the slide date and acceptance...
The turn clasp is interesting.
Those numbers should match on those parts, of course, but as you say oddities can occur. I've got a 1916 No. 1 Mk III* whose bolt is four digits off the receiver's, but that is more easily explained....
Nice find! Others know far more about this than I, but I was enlightened on these very pages about certain assembly numbers that don't appear to match others on a particular Japanese rifle, but are...
Probably just not heavy enough. Wouldn't want it flipping over in a stiff breeze.
Might make my commute take quite a bit longer, but much more satisfying. So many arrogant dolts, so little road.
Looks good. Let us know how she shoots!
Coming along nicely. Work to be proud of.
Satchel charges?
Interesting piece. I could see why he picked it up, could have many uses, especially in those days. What voltage is the bulb?
I will refrain from inserting a crass Lucas electrical "joke".
Tough trail ahead.
Nice ones.

I may be...
Must have gotten the quart can with the brush.
Might have been the same year I was on the back porch with my brothers when a good bolt hit the chain link fence about ten yards away. The resulting ozone smell in the air might have covered the...
Nice rig.
My meager life savings is losing value faster than I can replace it, so I can reconcile spending more than I would have before it's all toilet paper.
Rough deal on the tracks and missing parts. At least you have a source for better tracks, replacing an entire sprue might be a bigger challenge. Good luck on that.
I really enjoy the 7 X 57mm as well. Does all it needs to without reminding you the day after.
Nice work. I'll bet it's fun!
I second Steve's opinion. No worries about powder degradation, and with some testing, better potential accuracy.
