Check the brownell's catalog or website. They have the taps, replacement bushings and anything else you need. I used one of their taps for this
purpose and it was smooth as silk.

My personal opinion would be "no" -- the price is too high with just
10% finish left even if it is a 1943 model. I would rather wait and get
a better example any pay the $2K+ going price. But --...
In the new American Rifleman just out, they had an article that gave their picks for the "Ten Greatest Handguns of All Time". A difficult topic to discuss to be sure.
The Colt 1911 / 1911 A1 was...
That pistol looks near perfect to me. Just what price do you think is "fair and reasonable" for such as piece? Just curious. '45's of WWII in that condition are becoming increasingly harder to...
What a beauty -- I'm looking at the pics and drooling.
A great find and thanks for posting the pics!!

John:
Fantastic documentation. How on earth did you come by this?
I've never seen such detailed paperwork.
Best,
Mike
Fulton Armoury builds some great AR's and you can get pretty much
whatever you want from their long list of options.
I have one -- I love it. It shoots under 1 MOA.

To paraphrase the "Duke" in his last movie "The Shootist".
"It's not just being good with a gun that's enough - your have to be
willing to use it. Most men will pause, blink an eye, or give a...
Nowadays, our fearless leader "El Supremo Obama" is doing nothing but
apologizing to every country for what America has "done" to them, the
world in general and whatever else he can dream up. ...
There is a seller who has a supposed 03A3 "tanker" with a buy-it-now
price of $4,500. Listing is: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=129819671
He has some shipping documents...
Thanks guys for your advice. Finally had it apart today for cleaning and inspection. No problems. Like most things, once you learn the "trick" to doing it the rest is easy. Thanks again!!

A friend of mine just bought a 1914 USMC that was in the serial range.
Little of the original finish remained, but the piece had a very nice overall
patina and decent grips. He paid $2,600 and was...
Since we're on the topic of bolts -- I've just purchased my first
P 17 and cannot figure our what the trick is to removing the bolt.
Perhaps this sounds like a dumb question. I do have a book...
Thanks for posting that. I'm an "old airplaine" buff and I've never see that bad boy before!! Makes the Spruce Goose look small!!
Do you know if it ever successfully flew?
It's caused mostly by hoarding - everyone is out to get whatever they can
(I plead guilty too) since they are concerned that the political climate will put some limit on ammo purchases. This could...
Have a look at the EoTec sight system. It's sturdy and used by our own military. Yes it's expensive -- but worth it. At least it hits where you aim and has 1/2 minute click adjustments for windage...
Yes, the Enola Gay is fully restored and in the Smithonian Annex on display
near Washington. It was completed several years ago. The official name of the building is:

I'm sure it probably saved by Dad's life as well. He was 4 years on a destroyer in the Navy, lots of convery escort in the North Atlantic and
other rough duty including taking part in the D Day...
Department of Education? This is a joke -- a more proper name would be the Department of Disinformation.
Most high school kids have no clue about what happened in Vietnam and
even less of an...
I suggest a Glock. I have several - feeds any type of ammo, utterly
reliable, reasonable price and easy to shoot (good ergonomics, at least to me). I have a Glock 17 (full size 9MM) that I have...
In these times, many gun shops are imposing limits on purchases of ammo, and components (primers, powder, brass, etc.). Some have signs, some do not. Since everything is back-ordered and in short...
A "mint" 1918 Remington P17 just sold on Auction Arms for $2,600.
Nicest one I've ever seen.
Prices here (Pittsburgh, PA) at the latest gun show last weekend are for 1,000rounds: PMC Bronze $390, Winchester $525.
Vendors are limiting 1 case per customer. Also limits on primers (1,000...
John:
Interesting about the new range and training facility in the Cleveland
area. I live not too far away. Keep us posted on the progress or, if they have a website, let us know where we can...
You guys bring up a good point in this thread. Please excuse the slightly off topic post. I have have the opportunity to buy a supposedly "all correct M1 Garand" (Springfield, 1943) that is used,...
