It's a PH foresight using 17mm inserts. The problem is the inserts I bought fit...but upside down...so the 'bar' holding the actual 'hole' comes from the top of the foresight...not the bottom as is...

The one bit of advice I'd give...is if you do buy one & you want an aperture sight...
buy one with the sight already...as the sights are pretty expensive on their own.

I still shoot it occasionally using about 20gns of 2400 & a 175gn bullet...with at least a modicum nof success.
I also have a BSA 12/15 which I shoot regularly...so not sure the conversion costs...

Unfortunately the UK laws are a lot more stringent than in the US. Each gun has to have a 'slot' on our licence & I'd have to turn it in (or sell it) to free up that slot for...

I have a 1942 Lee Enfield mk 1/2, that was made as Mk1 in Maltby & then turned into a MK2 in Fazerkerly.
Though it's in pretty good condition...it's a wartime product with all that entails....

I too have one of these rifles with a very good barrel/bore. I'm pretty sure they shot best with sierra Palma 155s...mine certainly does. If you can't get the Sierras...then try another 155gn...
I had heard that using the 'wrong' firing pin in (I think) a P14 can cause primer rupture?
