CCI's are fine, it is the Winchesters that slamfire. Been shooting Cci's for the last 2 years and no issues whatsoever. I do prefer Remington 7.5 but they are hard to find.

JR, reading your post was priceless! I am an ex SADF soldier myself, and visited Rhodesia twice, 1977 and 79. Had a cousin in the SAS there that was a badass, and the best natural shot I ever saw....

Is it severely copper fouled? The copper can cover the grooves while acting as a kind of lubricant making the bullet skid over the rifling. I woulld clean it really really well, it may take a couple...
Yes, it has been beat to death...
The only time it will be a problem, is when you shoot 5.56 loaded with heavy bullets in a bolt action 223 with a short throat. Any AR with a 1 in 9 twist or...
I had an out of battery incident with my NM AR rifle. I was having problems with my reloads chambering, and thinking that I sized them wrong, used some new factory (not reloaded seconds) ammo. On the...
Radway Green will consistently have higher velocities than most other surplus, but it will also require more gas. Maybe they use a smaller amount of faster burning powder. Do a test with SA or FNM.
TZ80 ruined many a rifle, but that's the 7.62 stuff. Hope the 5.56 is of better quality! Hold onto that 300 round SA battlepack, people are paying insane prices for unopened ones.
The Kowas have great optics, but they are by no means bulletproof. I know of quite a few that snapped in half, or melted their O-rings in a hot car. I have a Tasco armored model (bought before I...
I would send it back pronto..
I bought one of the early RRA NM uppers back in 2000, and it was ripping the rims off brass, front sight was off center and had other issues, I sent it back, and they...
I shot many 100's of these out of a 1 in 14 twist 22/250, and many more out of a Mini-14. They killed coyotes like the hammer of Thor, and I also shot 2 deer and a Javelina with them. They mushroom...
Never tried RL-19, but 64 grains of RL-22 with the 162 Amax bullet did outstanding at 1000 yards in My Remington Sendero.
When I lived in AZ I did an experiment. I loaded one batch with WW cases where I did everything I could to improve accuracy, weigh the cases bullets and powder, uniform the primer pockets, check oal,...
Ballistol! It truly is a wonder product.
It's an upside down (distress signal) real South African flag..:help:
It will shoot the 60 grain Sierra and the 64 grain WW PP bullet well. I use 25 grains of 2520, LC cases, Rem 7.5 primer.
Were they divided by being Catholic and Protestant?
2230 is the fastest, and works better with light bullets, 2460 is a little slower, and 2520 the slowest. I use 2520 with my 68/69 grainers as well.
Did the UF55's come in mummy wrap? I have 2, one is brand new unfired, and the other one was sporterized a little, holes drilled for a scope (not by me).
It's a small price to pay for getting rid of them..
Thankfully I stocked up on carbine ammo long before I owned any other "assault" weapons, and I just found another 500 rounds of TZ 80 carbine ammo. Think I bought it from Aim, have never shot it.

Don't shoot FMJ bullets out of it, try the heavier match bullets. Even my older Mini will shoot small groups with the 68 Hornady, 64 grain Winchester PP, but spray 55 grain fmj bullets all over.
I left the SADF before the R4 was phased in. I did shoot a fully auto R6 back in 1992 when I went back for a visit, a good friend of mine made Colonel in the South African Police force, and we spent...
