Case head seperation maybe? Part of a case stuck in the chamber will act like that.
Nice looking rig, that palm grip (first I recall seeing on an AK) looks comfortable and functional.
Unless he knows something we don't know, I wouldn't let it bother me! There is his kind on every board.
Absolutely Tom, thanks.
I believe you are right Jim, thanks

This is the first I have heard of this also. Not unusual however as I have never owned a MN unfortunately.
I hope you can hang on to it too. Let us know how it shoots!
Very nice rifle. I'm sorry I can't answer any of your questions, I just popped in to check out your rifle, congratulations! Had a chance to fire it?
I like to see someone try to restore a rifle that bubba has screwed up. It will be a challenge but certainly doable.
Beautiful specimens!

This is the favorite of all my rifles. I got this one several years ago for a song and a dance even though I am left handed and steer away from bolt guns generally. It's in incredible condition to be...
Very nice looking rifle IMHO.
Is that a Finish Army stamp on the receiver? Good looking rifle!
I have a heavy interest in the M96 Swedish Mauser and the SKS, specifically Yugoslavian and Russian in that order.
Fascinating thread with very good info. My thanks to all!
Fascinating, this is my introduction to these rifles. Thanks Aragorn243
I agree, they are butt-ugly but I find myself wishing I had picked up one when I could get it for about $89. That is a very nice specimen daveboy!
Looks very interesting, thanks for all the work put into this project.
I didn't see (with just a quick look) any manuals for Swedish small arms, specifically the M96 Mauser, are there any?

I appreciate the response from each of you.
