Tried for years trying to get a green tint to my park metal. Here a couple of pics of my results.
In my first stint of Army service in the mid sixties, I carried the full auto M-14. Loved it on semi, couldn’t hit anything on auto. Just a waste of precious ammo. I own one today as a M1A in...
I have a Fn-Fal in inch pattern. The mags I bought years ago are metric. My question is: Can one open up the lips of a metrics mag so it locks up better. Thanks
I have a bolt with the ‘X’, also a 1 and several punch marks. My question is the bolt ever shiny without blueing or park as this one is? It has been through a rebuild but has most if not all...
The dark charcoal lie finish is magnesium phosphate. The light gray finish is zinc phosphate. When and why the change over, don’t know. My issued M-14 was magnesium phosphate.
Your barrel should be in good shape as no one (military) made .30 Carbine corrosive ammo.
Is there a site for 1911’s only? I owned a collection of both and know what i need for my 1911A1s, but am lacking information on the 1911s. Thanks.
I think ‘machine pistol’ or ‘sub machine gun’ would be a better fit. A machine gun shoots a rifle cartridge. I owned what I thought was the smallish machine gun, the H&K model 51 (Fire Dragon) in...
Iron Sights doesn’t have any mounts I’m looking for to check.
I have a high turret Mauser missing the scope and scope mount. Does anyone know if the mounts offered on ebay and such will fit the original WWII high turret mounts? Of course I’m also on the...
I no longer have my HK 51 ‘Fire Dragon’ so these are of no use to me. As pictured these are 7.62x51 HK mag loader and unloader. $100.00 plus the ride.
I have plenty of others to shoot. I’ve collected M1’s and others for years. Got more ammo than I’ll ever shoot. So, no big deal. I’m a reloader so I might be able to get around this. Thanks for...
Well, I got a safe queen. Bolt closes on a Foster field gauge (2.055”). The chance of finding a good P17 (model of 1917) are slim. I don’t collect British. I have collected most all of smokeless...
Can one use the M1 Garand headspace gauges for the P17? My P17 bolt closes on the ‘no go’ gauge and I’m somewhat concerned. Thanks
What does the upgrade consist of?
Ulyanovsk Machinery Plant State Production Association, Russia
I’ll see what I can do.
I purchased both the .45ACP and 9mm. I fired a couple of hundred round thru both to break them in. No issues whatever. The .45 required a strong hand. Other than that, I’m a happy camper.
Interesting post. My father in law served as a waist gunner and toggler in the 8th. I found in a drawer after his passing a bunch of never seen photos, and the Brownie camera he used, of B-17’s...
Not trying to seal this post but...what can I do to get a correct scope plus upper mounts for my WW2 Mauser sniper with the low turret mount? Please point me a direction. Thanks
It’s .30-06 right? A no go in a M1A unless I’m wrong. I would think collector ammo. Collectors love this stuff. I’ve love to have just the box for my WW2 ammo.
Nice piece of hardware. I would have someone check it out if you are not familiar with the carbine. Nit picking...the stock is too shiny. Rub it down with fine steel wool to take some of gloss...
Collector or shooter? Nice find.
Thanks for the input guys. I’m not a long range shooter anyway.
I have the weapon platform for the scope. It a 1942 Mauser sniper. I don’t have the scope nor upper section of mount. The mount is called a low turret type. Ending S/N 62. I might be interested.
