What would cause this failure to feed?

It seems like the brass case is catching on something around the barrel, but the entire circumference is smooth and clean. Any thoughts? The same thing happens on every round when fed manually, it functions about 1/2 the time when firing. Same problem with different mags and various ammo. It appears to be a correct barrel for the receiver (USGI WWII rebuild) and seems to be in good condition. More photos of the rifle can be seen in my other recent thread here:

    Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Bob
