I believe the Italians made the BM 59's from M1 Garand parts when the US came out with the M-14's. I have seen instructions on the net how to convert a M1 to one but it requires a lot of machine work. If S.A. made them they would be prototype, or test guns to use up surplus parts. It would be a rare gin if you find one.

Alot of the parts are marked PB BM59,but not BP.
PB stands for Pietro Beretta . Not all parts will be marked but some will .
Machinegunbooks is the place for BM59 info .
