    US Navy Victory cartouche

    This Victory came my way and it has the faint remains of a DOD cartouche on the frame. I have not been able to find any info on this particular marking. Anyone see this before?

    I think in the late 1960's some of the rebuild facilities started using a paint DAS stamp to indicate rebuild rather than using a metal stamp. Some of the late SA and RIA NM .45's had the stamp.

    Looks like the pistol wore a set of S&W Magna grips for a while.

    That might be one of the revolvers issued to one of the DoD police departments that were used on military bases and installations.

    what caused the marking on the grip above the scales ? it looks as if it wore a much larger grip at one time-for a long time
