    Spingfield 1903...a little help please

    This was given to me and Im not sure exactly what its worth or if it is even authentic. A little help would be greatly appreciated.

    The rifle is legitimate, if a little "long in the tooth". The only part I can see from your picture that is non-military is the buttplate. Correct barrel, the bolt (or at leastthe cocking piece) is from a later M1903A3.

    mauser buttplate, 1917 upper band , 17 staking swivle on that band, 1903A3 cocking rod, if they didnt ruin the stock with the buttplate, and the bore is good, retail value is about 500.00
    if the stock was cut or messed with. 250.00 maybe 300.00
