2A Rifle Ishapore, India

Images

Despite being completely new built, the receiver still looks like a No1 Rifle. But note the box shaped 7.62mm magazine (12 round capacity).

The buttsocket reads: India Emblem, Rifle 7.62mm 2A1, Rifle Factory Ishapore, 1969. Pretty much says it all.

Two pictures here detailing the 2A's magazine, very similar in shape to the FN FAL or M14.

Unique to the Ishapore is the very squared off nosecap. Illustrated here is the 2A1 sight modification. Finally, the re-shaped butt of the Ishapore 7.62mm rifle. The rear sight was range limited to 800 meters. More closely resembling the butt of the FAL rifle.
