John, a quick q.
Is the barrel 12" including the flash hider or 12" without?
I'm thinking if one had a dummy F/H then the barrel within could be a bit longer here in the UK.
Nice rifle!

Hi Bruce,
Is it these straps for the scope - FN FAL scope bands for OIP sniper mount - CONTINENTALMILITARIA
I would second John's recommendation. I've only used Rob for parts so far, a really helpful guy.
Roger, his transit chest didn't sell either. He's adjusted his starting price (now in the lower stratosphere) and relisted it.
Interesting rifle Paul, thanks for posting.
I see there's a couple more DP marked ones up at auction this month here in the UK. Hard to tell from the auction photos how much metalwork is DP marked...
Will it be .22WMR John, so as to at least make it function more like an original? :)
Cool project indeed! It's a real shame I'm on the other side of the pond. Good luck with your sale.
....Rummages in his attic.....scope, check - bracket, check - spare front pad, check - correct...
I'd say the bracket is genuine. I've got one somewhere that has similar filing marks.
Has the s/n been checked against the records - that would provide useful assurance especially re the...
Thanks for posting the pictures. From the look of the cartouche the butt stock is originally from an Enfield made Mark I*.
A nice looking rifle with no doubt an interesting history, especially as...
Mine is SPF 7579....AD69 (7.62mm)
When you look closely at the photo of the 'L12A1' I think you can make out some signs of apparent work to remove the original L1A1 designation. There are a couple of witness marks - a radius at the...
So the seller of Faz L1A1 and '75/'80 L42A1 fame pops up with something 'very rare' yet again
I wonder if the kit barrel liner is permanently fixed or removable in which case do I need...
Gil,
You have previously replied - in 2014 - about both 00135F and 00351F :
Rifle S/N 00135F Built on the 26th November 1986 into an Arctic body fitted with an Arctic Knob too.
Fitted with a...
Cheers Roy.
I must admit I hadn't looked too closely, I just saw my auction alert update and thought it was cheap!
**Please ignore title - my typo it's SN 00135F**
Catching up with my auction updates I see a PH M85 (no. 00135F) sold today at Gavin Gardiner in the UK.
It was missing a few original parts...
Is it this post of yours John? Sadly the picture on here is no more, I imagine disappeared as part of the great image loss problem suffered here.

Yes, and he's got 6,099 other items listed
Just come across an REL no.32 MkI scope no 467-C for sale on ebay UK. Looks like the seller will ship to USA/Canada. No personal connection to me.
If someone is needing a Canadian one or looking...
Yes, not a high volume manufacturer and unlike say Enfield, the alpha part of serials was never reused in later years/marks.
Hi T
Interesting rifle.
I've also got a 1905 LSA No1 that was upgraded to a Mk1*** during its life. It's also a 2xxxx serial number. It has a 'K' suffix, not a pre-fix. I think your rifle...
John, Simon P has just listed one for sale....
Cheers John.
Now I have my first one I'm off down the M16/AR15 rabbit hole I fear
Next I'd like one in .22WMR too, probably a flat top. I quite like the Guncraft one - it was them who...
Looks like someone needs to teach him the correct way to mount his sling too. :)
I've got one of these somewhere but never fitted it so far. You are supposed to be able to remove the bolt I believe.
However there is some more info on the Tippins sight which might help here:

Thanks Jim.
Yes, chopped gas tube (stub remaining needed to hold the front handguard retaining cap of course) and no port in the barrel but otherwise all there. The serial supposedly dates it to...
