My No. 4 has serial # ROF G 212xx A on the left buttsocket, dated 7/42. Furniture has matching serial #'s. Bolt & mag. does not match. Brass BP. Some mis-mash of parts - Savage, Long branch, etc....
I think you misunderstood- The tube is paint over blued steel, the mouthpiece appears to be an alloy.
