Leather cover for an artillery, anti-tank gun or flak sight?
Whatever it was, it's too far gone. Use it as a beater utility knife.

Dear members, can you please spread this Youtube film through your network of fellow collectors, maybe they will offer the stolen items on the international market? If you see or know something...

A few pistols with the 'BOHMISHE" slide legend are without serial number and bear a Nazi eagle 4 and a U prefix number etched on the slide. These may have been pre-military production test pistols.

Remove it from the stock and look for more markings on the bottom of the action. In this case the proofmarkings you posted will not help.
Maybe the metal hooks and latch weren't used to attach gear to the breastplate, but to attach the breastplate to a vehicle of some kind. Maybe part of the kit of an armoured car crew? Some had open...
Probably a civilian helmet (hard hat) made by the Acme Protection Equipment Company some time later as March 2, 1926. That's when Edward Cairns patented a "Sanitary Cushion Lining" liner that was...
If it is home or theater made, maybe the latch was part of the original object that was cannibalized to make this breastplate?
Thank you for the great source!
I just can't seem to find a source of information about artillery simulators online. A member from another forum thinks it's a 2 inch practice mortar bomb. I really don't know what it is...
The object is made from bakelite or some kind of plastic. Maybe these extra pictures can help? If you guys need more pictures, just ask.

Can anyone identify this object and give me a reliable source of information?
Double broach cut receiver, so it's probably a FN M1950 Short Rifle Mauser.
Spanish M44 Air Force Mauser, the EA prefix means Ejército del Aire.

I was wrong, it's an earlier version. It's probably the Dutch heavy cavalry Model 1820/42.

Looks like a Dutch Colonial M 1850 pistol. https://www.nmm.nl/zoeken-in-de-collectie/?q=koloniaal+m+1850+pistool
I think it's possible to hit a human full size target up to 150-200 meters with a H&K MP5 using NATO 124gr ball ammo. I've seen it done with a Steyr Aug A1 Para 9mm SMG and an early FN made UZI 9mm...
It isn't the ammunition that's not accurate, it's the shooter and his lack of training. I know what the guys in these video's are doing isn't exact science but it shows the potential of the 9x19 mm...
"Saupers Companie" isn't correct Dutch, that should say "Sapeurs Compagnie". I've heard and read every possible explanation. Dutch KNIL, Belgian Colonial, Danish, French Foreign Legion...

Doc,
do you have source for this information?
Hard to tell without pictures, but $200 seams fair for any used .308 bolt action rifle.
