The underside of the barrel, where the heatshield attaches has been butchered for different positions with the screws.
This heatshield has an extra link. Comments please.

Anyone have a WW II Stevens heat shield? Don't want to go the REPo route unless.
can anyone date a Stevens 520-30, serial 49776? It is military marked and has a Viet Nam Stevens M77E heatshield.
One of my Dealer friends who is somewhat of a Winchester Xpert said that the sling swivels were indeed the old Winchester type. I guess he was correct, cause he wanted to trade me out of them.
check your PM. I sent you a message on parts for your 1911.
See Clawson's little book, page 61, "safety locks----early locks checkered, later grooved"
Try Cylinder and Slide Inc. They have reproductions made to spec.
I saw a grooved(serrated) thumb safety on Gun broker the other day. Try search for 1911 a1, colt, ithaca us&s under collectables
Try these folks. They may be able to give you a lead.

It was a little more than some of the modern riot type shotguns on the market today, but they have no history, and I don't like the black plastic furniture.

I'm new to this forum. I hang out on the 1911/1911a1 forum, but I ran accross this shot gun a few weeks ago and it kept telling me to take it home. Serial is 165761, Winchester Model 1912. My...
Not disputing your expert eye, but seems like a lot of work for a rusted pitted frame.
Picked up a well used 1911 serial 31973X the other day. (I will post photos from photobucket) It appears to have had the United States Property rollmark applied three times. The first attempt was...
Clawson's little book, page 56 makes reference to the slides of some Ithacas bearing the rollmarks M 1911 A1 U.S. Army being used intermittently about 906000 to 916404 and continuing slightly into...
I have a 1911 frame with the interlaced HP stamped at the 1 0'clock position near the disconnector hole.
Thanks to all for the info and pics. I see that the post war serial is 42xxx. Close to my serial.
Thanks JP. Clawson's says they started production in June 1947 at serial 40001 and ended 56770---16,770 units. I'm looking at one serial 4346X, so it's probably a August unit. It's possible some of...
Can anyone tell me what are the correct grips that would have been shipped on a 1947 Colt Super 38? Also were target sights a factory option? Clawson is a bit light on this info, Thanks
Beware of this US&S on GB. US&S slide on a 103xxxx serial numbered Remington Rand frame. Sent seller an email that he had an incorrect frame. Gave him the serial number info page number in Clawson's...
Picked up a Colt 1911 a1 checkered MSH the other day, but the lanyard loop had been cut off. I got the pin out but the remaining studs won't budge. Any suggestions?
Johnny, Do you know approx. how many C to M slides were shipped?
Reference Clawson's little book Page 30, Ref 24. Clawson doesn't eleborate on these C to M slides other than circa may-June 1918. I am looking at one in the 337xxx range but the slide is bluer than...
