Remington Rand 1911 A1

I recently purchased a RR 1911 A1, from what I can tell it is mostly complete, except for the thumb safety, that appears to be from a Colt, anyone here can help me in identifying this, and would anyone have a 1944 thumb safety, if the one I have turns out to be incorrect for this weapon. Thanks

I saw a grooved(serrated) thumb safety on Gun broker the other day. Try search for 1911 a1, colt, ithaca us&s under collectables

If I am correct, it is an early 1944. Pictures would be great. As we jokingly say here, "without pictures, it never happened".

Remington Rand used checkered thumb safeties throughout their production.

The information about Remington Rand using serrated safety locks is incorrect. They used nothing but checkered thumb safeties.
