Reviving a few old threads of some favorites

Hope all don't mind but here are a few old threads that are some favorites of mine.
There are plenty of others, but thought I'd just list these 3 for now.
If there are no objections and you enjoy these let me know.
Maybe down the road I can add or you add some favorites to this thread.
By 'Star Rating' this thread we can get a idea if it's worth going forward with it when the forum is slow.

1st, Member tschie's Inland SN 1205 with a great picture album:

    Oh! Boy! Carbine porn!
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

Nice (and I really mean "nice" firearms) that were faithful to it's original purpose: a replacement for a pistol. Trying to make the M1icon Carbine into a main infantry weapon was a bad idea. The M2 was subject to the same range limitations.

Please folks... let's stay focused on the topic of the thread which is about some great past threads and pics of carbines!

If you want to argue about the merits of the carbine, please start a separate thread.

    Thank you..

    Regards,
    Doug

I'm just skimming the top, Look in to the Original Threads listed with each example for more details.

    To Start:
    2 M1A1icon's double the pleasure..
Here are 2 late 6,4 mil Inland M1A1's with barrel dates of 11-44.
Shared with us by fellow member sakorick

    Original thread: https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=53785

    Next:
Also shared by sakorick is his QHMC 1,93 mil with Flip sight and 9-42 BA barrel.
Look at the color of that sling and condition of the stock !

    Original thread: https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=50315

    Next Up:

Shared by phillydude is one many have never heard of and many life long collectors search for. He was contacted by a local gun shop owner and asked if he was interested in M1 carbines. Then told the shop owners Brother had 1 for sale. A few so so pictures were passed along with a price. He bought it, but was going to be out of town for 6 weeks or so before he could get home to see it. At the time phillydude was unaware that Rock Ola had made a few Springtube Carbines. I had to pull pictures from multiple threads about it, I'll try to list all in order below.

Here is the Rock Ola Spring Tube SN 1,668, mil

    Original threads:
    https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=48249
    https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=48493
    https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=48642

This Receiver, I believe known as a Type IB, having no cut out notch in the Receiver rail to retain the notch on the detachable Spring Tube. The early RMC stocks had a inner notch cut that the Spring Tubes notch fit in........ The last Thread Link above will show you this or See pics below:

All are Welcome to Add their favorite older M1 Carbine threads

I have quite a few Subscribed to older threads that the picture links are no longer accessible. Links like Tiny Pics and Photobucket are long gone. I'd advise loading your pictures directly on to Milsurps.
If anyone has any old favorites your welcome to add them or if easier for you, send a Link to me via a PM here.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've thought about including nice examples of carbine accessories like slings, magazines, bayonets, fighting knives, cases, pouches etc. Along with more Display pictures, plus before and after stock and metal repairs/refinishing. I'll give it some thought, feel free to pass along your thoughts and ideas.
