Hooks, if I remember right, it is Newscotlander who is the Ace on that colour line, he's still collecting info on it. Mike.

That's my gun that Charlie posted above. One correction: the mag catch is stamped W-l instead of E l. Hard to see in the pic's!
Thanks for the info so far!

I think you are probably correct. I did a search on his post and saw a couple he mentioned the color line but not the one I remember. It had a lot of discussion on the two-tone color line and may have been on the old Jouster
site.

My apologies for the error, Mark. I wish I hadn't been so overwhelmed at the time with all the goings-on with my road trip then, I would have liked to have taken better pix for the crew here and maybe stripped the trigger group down as well. I'm still wondering about the hammer, I wouldn't think that would have been replaced by the average G.I. in a "cleaning party". At any rate, I wouldn't even think about replacing the stock, it definitely has some history behind it and there's little doubt it is original to the carbine.

Hooks,
I remembered the 'color line' thread too after you brought it up. I'm fairly certain the thread was on Jouster in the last few months before most of the Jouster forums became unreadable because of spam.
The spam issue didn't show up very much on the old carbine forum, but it became horrible on most of the other forums at that time, and everything was shut down.
Sadly, most all of our old posts were lost.
The thread was fairly extensive and informative, with several good photos showing color lines on various Inlands submitted from others as well, as the thread progressed.
