    Carbine help

    Hello
I have 7 carbines that I would like to find out a value on and to see if the parts are correct. Is this the right place to post or can you tell me where I can find this info?
    Thanks

We can help. Buying a reference book would be you best bet. The book by Craig Riesch is the cheapest and easiest to use but has a few errors. The WAR BABY! Books by Larry Ruth are the best but much more expensive. There is a book out now by R C Larson that is well laid out but uses many reproduction parts passed off as original and is not recommended. If you ask here be sure to post good photos as they are the best way to tell anything.

    Good luck.

Let me start out by saying I know hardly anything about M1icon carbines, so I apologize ahead of time for errors. I bought these guns as a package deal and would eventually like to own a nice example of each manufacturer. I understand some of these guns are probably parts guns and correct so don't think you are going to hurt my feelings. I did the best I could reading the marking and I am sure I will be corrected.

Sure you know nothing about M1icon carbines? Those appear to be substantially all correct based on your info. An Irwin-Pedersen is the Holy Grail of carbines, sells for several thousand dollars.

I bought them from a guy that knew something I guess. These are actually my first USGI carbines. I bought a new manufacture auto ordnance gun and liked it so much I decided to try to get into collecting them. Then I found out my grandfather had used them in WWII and I had to have an original. I think it may become an addiction.

It appears you have really nice carbines. Mostly correct to original. Most advanced collectors do not have that many correct carbines. A quick look tells me the Winchester mag catch is not right and I don't think the front sight is right either. The others look good. You need to look in the slind well for letters. And pictures of the stamps in the wood on the right side.

That is the kind of info I am looking. What would make the gun right? Also, since it hard to give individual prices, what is the whole works worth? I would just like to know if I did OK or not.
    Thanks again
