I'll see if I can't find the trials report. But some are blocked for commercial secrecy/integrity

OT, but having just visited AI's site as linked by Simon, I was at the range on Armistice Day and got to see a couple of their new AX platforms in action. Kinda makes sense, if you are slave to rifle fashion trends. Promised not to plaster photos on the internet as there was a whole crew doing a magazine article. But it was sticking bullets "all close together" at medium range (out to 675yds.) They got to see a little SMLE action in return.
Gee, thanks Simon, something else upon which to squander money.

I have included a few pictures from the collection, an L42A1 with the trails mount for the S&B 6x42 scope inc for good measure.

Having looked at the 2 earlier trial reports I have the author of both is WO1 A Harverson and approved by Lieutenant Colonel M A Toomey
I do have the names of the trial subjects who took part mainly from 42/45 Cdo RM, 3 Para, 22 SAS, CTC RM, Sch of Inf, 1 QOHLDRS

Yep, know the Army ones and will speak to them re it when I see them next. Probably see the important one, Tony Harverson first

We do have some of the papers but they're on microfische - and who has microfische readers now! One of the 'problems' with the interarm rifle was that it was based on the chassis (albeit a well tried one) of another rifle. What one was it? Can anyone tell? It was also done on the cheap and while there is something to be said for this, it was visibly cheap. The Tasco telescopes were not of an approved type - mind you, nor was the S&B at the time but they agreed to make the lenses from a different material if it were accepted.
I'll try and get the paperwork read instead of using a spyglass
