Yes, an interesting rifle. The body side wall T is smaller than the norm, but is of the same style. I have seen several of these rifles over the years (& own one), all of them being 43 BSA's.

Incidentally, what are the letters marked onto the inside of the body side-wall by the front pad screws?

You may also find it has the BSA examiner's stamp on it but not the D6E - but this is common on earlier rifles.

I'm not sure exactly I noticed that. Almost looks electro penciled but won't know till next week when it comes in.

Also on the left side of the receiver by the T is it normal for the NO4 M1 to be electro penciled rather than stamped? It doesn't looked stamped in the pictures? Had me worried a bit.

I wouldn't worry about that - BSA didn't stamp the No 4 MK1 on the reciever - often it's not very visible on the rifle due to paint etc. I've got a '43 with the smaller t too.
