I was sitting here pondering this thread and the ammo in question so I looked up the conversion for the .299 and it came back with 7.59mm so I dug out 14th Ed COTW and sure enough its the Carcano then I thought I would look up the cartridge on the net to see a head stamp at this point the light bulb went on as I have a Carcano full 6 round en-bloc clip sitting on my shelf in the room has the cartridges are all SMI the 932 is that month & year the brass en-bloc's apparently are getting rare now days.
En - Bloc ~ BPD = Bombrini Parodi Delfino, Rome, Italy- 34 ? year of manufacture perhaps!
Cartridge ~ SMI = Società Metallurgica Italiana, Campo Tizzoro, Italy Sept 1932 manufacture ?
Tellya sometimes I am so far behind the band I cannot hear the music.......![]()
