The Marine Corps also issued a M1961 Cartridge Belt, intended for M14icon magazine pockets, which would also work with the carbine pouch. The earliest ones were just WW2 or later Pistol Belts with the fasteners added - later they were made from new. Production of these was only through to 1967 before the Marines ceased using their own field gear and started using the Army's set, which they had originally rejected.
