No.4 Bolt head question

I have been working for 1-2 years on my No.4 project. Nice bore and worth the effort, But things are at stalemate and I have no ideas. I have installed the extractor and spring on my bolthead and now the bolt will not close, as best as I can see the extractor is striking the rear of the barrel. If I remove the extractor the bolt will full close. The extractor came out of an unopened box ofNo.4 surplus parts out of the UK. Not sure what is/isn't going on. Do I have a No.1 extractor? No idea here. Thanks you, guys.

Does your extractor function properly against the spring while in hand? Is it moving up when it rides up the bevel in the extractor groove?

If I had to make a guess, the extractor spring is probably not fully seated. If it is not seated all the way in it's recess, this makes it very difficult to close the bolt. Enclosed pics show how the extractor should appear. Good luck!

I must push like crazy to get very small movement. BUT, I did notice the extractor spring is not fully to the rear in the groove. Should the spring loop be all the way back in its groove?
Yes! Yes! Yes! The spring is not fully seated. Thank you Guys!!!

Otherwise as you found it's solid. Ask me how I know. Not just that but I think I broke one trying to fight with it. Good stuff, all is now well...
