Barrel date 12-43 would be correct for production range of 499k? I asked seller for a photo of the front sight area. He emailed today and said their email was not working and he got me question (sent 3 days ago) after the auction closed. Hmmm. With a good barrel this is one of the cheapest correct 03A4s/M73B1 scope combos I have seen in a while!

Good catch Arisaka. Did the seller by any chance provide the full serial number?
He virtually gave the thing away I'm afraid. This is a good example where he should have started at say 2k or 2.5K with a 4 or 5K reserve.

Looks to be 4992813 from what I can decipher. I watched it for a week and then missed the closing time. Was leery because of low bids even though shims, SN range, stock proofs, scope, mounts and all else were correct. Perturbed that seller didn't get email or send the photo; told him I would have bid more than sale price had he replied. Didn't want to risk a bubba re-barrel even though chances were low.
