Your serial number ain't a 1942 - that date of manufacture table is incorrect. The barrel is correct for the receiver.

That's good to know.
I've shot it twice with UMC 150 FMJ, but we were on the 50 yard line.
We had a Remington 1903 years ago that was probably original it was 4-42 iirc. Nothing special but a nice old war horse nonetheless.
