Why did this almost mint 03A3 sell so cheap?
Hi, I'm curious why this one sold so cheap? WWII 1943 Remington model 03-A3 30/06 bolt rifle : Bolt Action Rifles at GunBroker.com
Are there any red flags showing? Other than it looks like no one even bumped it in the rack in 70 years. Thanks.

I'm not sure that $610 is "so cheap" for an 03A3, more like a good buy. And "ARSENAL RE WORKED" may have hurt it a bit.

parts gun, thats been refinished.
price is what the market brings
notice.
manganese park common with modern day refinishers,
miss matched parked parts,
repro, bayonet lug, Trench gun bottom swivel,
blue with wear cocking assembly with a crispy parked rifle...

These rifles sold by the army direct to NRA members thru the DCM for $15.00 plus REA collect. About 300,000 of them. I still have one.

Well I have this A3.
And you just answered my questions and that was about the unmarked parts, especially the upper barrel band.
I haven't dated the receiver but the barrel seems to be correct to the rifle, bolt is "R" marked, excellent headspace, as well as 2 groove barrel. I'm a shooter not a collector and I don't feel like I paid too much. Well used battle rifles are 5 Benny's.

600 to 650 is what several 03A3 s my friend just sold brought on GB. All were rearsenaled. The 2 he had that were not rearsenal he sold locally. One for $750 and one for 800.00. I think 610 is a good deal, especially if it shoots real well.

I looked on and off for awhile and some prices were, well unreasonable. This one was listed and the listing wasn't trying to hide anything, and I realized it was refinished. Bore is very good, it shoots good, price was right.
