ALEX MARTIN GLASGOW Part??

Hi All,
I am very new here so forgive me if this is rather vague.
In amongst some old woodwrking tools that I have just bought is a part that is istamped ALEX MARTIN GLASGOW.
Also has ELLIOTTS 200 YARDS stamped on it.
Made of what seems to be German Silver it comrises a protractor marked from either side 0 to 10 degrees with a gap in the middle. There is a lockable sliding pivot that registers on the scale.
Any thoughts would be most welcome.

No.3 MkI* (T)A Sniper Rifle - (Pattern 1914 Mk1* W (T)A Sniper Rifle)

This is one of only 421 sniper rifles converted by Alexander Martin of Glasgow. There are several pics in the "Collector's Feedback and Comments" section of the main library entry, showing font and stamping examples, as compared against pics provided by several collectors of other known examples which currently reside in collector's hands. These pic close-ups are very helpful in spotting reproduction mounts, which have been sold on various auction sites in the past.

In the book a Century of sights and sighting Aids by E R Parker page 2 & 3 item 16 covering 1864 to 1907 approx, there is what looks like a similar sight without indicator/pointer, marked and shaped similarly but with windage scale described in book as "Scale Elevator & wind gauge. Shooting the bar at 200 yards or tilted flap, aim can be taken dead at the bulls eye in a strong wind and with rifles that throw to the right or left allowance can be made to aim at the bulls eye". Hope this helps.
