    Cost:

    Rifle - $5.00
    Open - $5.00
    Bench Rest - $5.00

    Lunch - $5.00 or bring your own. Two Hot Dogs and a Soft Drink.

    No advance registration required. You do not need to be a member of EOHC!

    Event Descriptions (permitted firearms and courses of fire):

    For the Military Rifle Match:

    Permitted Rifles

    Only unmodified milsurps of WWII or earlier design with iron sights may be used - no "bubbas" or sniper guns. Must be as issued, full military wood & sights, no exceptions. Based on this definition, for example a 1950's Garandicon, Mosin M44, Irish contract No4 MkII and Spanish Mauser bolt gun are in, but the SKS, FN-49, and a scoped, Mojo'd or peep-sighted Yugoicon 24/47 are out. If you are not sure if your gun qualifies, please ask. Sling use is permitted and encouraged.

    Course of Fire – Military Rifle

    There will be four stages of 10 rounds each at 100 yards, and one stage at 200 yards for a total of five stages. Three minutes is allotted for the 10 rounds (including reloading) at 100 yds, five minutes for the 200 yd event:

    At 100 yards

    - 10 standing;
    - 10 kneeling or sitting;
    - 10 prone;
    - 10 snap (five second "exposure", followed by 10 second "hidden"); and

    At 200 yards

    - 10 freestyle. Shooter may choose any safe position of their choice, but may not employ shooting aids, such as shooting sticks, bipods and rests of any kind (other than your own body).

    Each shooter will fire a total of 50 shots with a maximum possible score of 500. The targets used will be the Shooting Federation of Canadaicon 50 yard slow fire pistol target.

    No spotting scopes or spotters calling out shots is permitted.

    All action and handling of firearms will be strictly controlled by an EOHC-appointed Range Safety Officer. Please read and be prepared to follow EOHC Range Safety Rules. Safety is paramount. See www.eohc.ca for that information as well as directions to the club.

    Competitors provide the firearm and ammo - a mat for the prone and kneeling/sitting stage is strongly suggested. There exists the potential for kind souls to lend a firearm if the participant provides the ammo (a minimum of 60 rounds is suggested). If you lack an appropriate firearm, I suggest you post your request here and then take it from there by PM.

    For the Open Match

    Same as for Rifle, but anything goes, e.g. any rifle, any sighting system, and shooting aids such as bipods are permitted (as long as they are in place for all stages).

    For the Bench Rest Match:

    Permitted Rifles

    Same as for Open. Bench Rests and Bipods are permitted.

    Course of Fire - Bench Rest

    There are four stages of 10 rounds each. Time alloted varies from three to five minutes (including reloading). Targets at 100 and 200 yards.

    Slow Fire 100yd – 10 shots in five minutes.

    Rapid Fire 100 yd – 10 shots in three minutes.

    Slow Fire 200yd - 10 shots in five minutes.

    Rapid Fire 200 yd - 10 shots in three minutes.

    Each competitor will fire a total of 40 shots with a maximum possible score of 400. Targets will be Shooting Federation of Canada 20 yard Timed and Rapid Fire Pistol.

    Prizes and Displays

    We want to keep it simple, with a focus on friendly competition, developing a sense of community, increasing interest in the shooting sports and of collection and preservation of milsurps.

    Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each event will consist of bragging rights and pics posted on Gunnutz.

    Door prizes will be awarded by way of a random draw from among participants as follows:

    Participants in the Military Event

    TBD - donated by Marstar.

    Participants in the Open Event

    A scope donated by Higginsons Powder.

    Participants in the Bench Rest Event

    A scope donated by Higginsons Powder.
