I need a little help. I recently purchased a NM Colt in what appears to be its original shipping box. The date on the box is 12-62. The gun has a Colt slide on a Rand frame. From what I have read so far, the Army was using military slides on these guns thru 1962 and then in 63 used Colt factory slides. The pictures I have found of these guns shows the slide serrations as forward leaning, the ones on the gun I have are vertical. The slide has a "P" proof forward of the rear site. In addition to the normal Colt markings on the right side, the left side has "COLT'S MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. USAicon". I will try to post pictures.

Any help is appreciated.
