It sounds like it was loaned to Austria because of the trigger gaurd engraving. Althought the bluing and numbering of parts was typical of ones loaned to Bavaria. Is there anything engraved on the top of the receiver by the bolt. Some were loaned to Bavaria and then loaned to Austria.

The US did not serialize stocks or parts, so right there you know it was sent to Germany/Austria after the war, and is known as a 'Bavarian' carbine. These are collectible as Bavarians but obviously can never be as used by the US again.

LGK oo I believe stands for Ober Osterreich (Upper Austria), so this was definately an Austrian gun at some point- here is some more info Austria's Story
