Thumbs up Reproduction ZF41 Scope Mount

Received a couple from Numrich Arms recently so I could employ an original scope on a K98kicon rifle of known accuracy.

They're cast, but extremely well, and accepted the scope quite well.

Next concern was fitment on the rifle selected, so the original sight, spring and ramp were removed. The new ramp/mount was a very tight fit, so tight that at first I thought some precision fitting would be needed. However, a little tapping w/ a medium-small plastic faced mallet seated the unit. Same for the sight spring.

This may very well be the nicest reproduction part with which I've ever dealt!

Photos to follow if there's sufficient interest. Bear in mind this is just the first report of a larger project.

It's just that good news doesn't get out as much as the bad.

Slight oversight on my part, but it's probably a good thing for those concerned about fakery. The locking slot is far enough more forward of the rear of the mount that my original scope won't lock in place. Purely intentional I'm sure.

I don't think it will affect the practical utility of the unit, at least for range use, so it'll be left unmodified for now.

Gotta do some parts finding or fabrication to the scope itself, first. It needs the "clicker" to hold the elevation ring at one setting and a spring that goes behind the objective nut. Unfortunately, I don't have another scope to copy these bits, so a little hunting is in order.

    Some Photogs:

Note that the unit sits high enough that no stock modification is required. Good for those not wanting to permanently alter their rifle.

Note that the lock doesn't drop.

Need a few items to get the scope servicable.

Missing an anti-rotation piece under the lock ring.

And the spring metal "clicker" w/ screws.

Any good detail photos out there? Or parts? I'll probably fabricate something when things get a bit more settled, I hope!
