Reloading cast bullets for Luger and Walther P38

I have a 1917 DWM Luger and a 1944 Walther P38, both in excellent condition, and both are great shooters with FMJ ammo, which is pretty expensive right now. I just bought 500 rounds of 125 grain cast lead RN's for reloading, and was wondering if any Luger/P38 shooters have had any problems with leading in barrels and/or feeding problems with cast bullets. i have used cast bullets in my p38 for many years. as long as you don't cook them too hot they work well. i tend to finish a shooting session by running a clip of fmj through the gun . i haven't had any problems that a normal good cleaning didn't fix. also am hooked on using a gun snake as the final cleaning after swabbing brushig and drying with matches. i find the lead bullets [ i use twice cleaned and fluxed wheel weights for my cast bullets] shoot well and are much cheaper and very satisfying to make the bear

Strange, The Bear does things almost exactly the same as I do. I also use wheel weights for bullet metal. I try to keep the speed down and that helps with the leading. I also use a mag of jackets at the end to both remind me of how it should feel and to take out any leading. Some might say that's dangerous because if there's lead you can raise pressures. OK that's me, you don't have to do it that way. I make sure of a complete scrub after and that's that. Matter of fact, I use lead in ALL my handguns (about 25) or I wouldn't be able to shoot them all the time.
