    Ross rifle bayonet

I didn't see an introduce yourself forum. I'm getting back into camping now that my boys are old enough. I thought this was a milsuplus gear site at first. To further the process along my FNL game me two bayonets for christmas. I thought it was cool at first, brought back memories of being deployed w/ my issued bayonet. Of course now I remember why I only opened MRE's w/ mine. Just not a good blade design for wood use (IMO). Can someone help me grade this Ross so I can move it along to someone who will enjoy it ....

I'm pretty impressed w/ it. The spring on the clip still works. They sure knew how to make them back then. No sheath, it's just siting in my knife box in the garage.

He also gave me an Imperial M7S. Not sure what to do w/ it. My 10 yo is fascinated w/ it.

Looks like a first pattern with a small spring in the muzzle ring these aren't common especially with the ring in place. Shame yours is so damaged in this area. The strnger thing is that the grips appear to be marked for the US and I've only ever seen that on the 2nd pattern with the different muzzle ring. see film prop bayonets for more information and examples to show what I mean.

Just put it on the WTB here and someone will fall in love with it. I know if it was here, I'd have that ring fixed in a heartbeat. It'll sell.
    Regards, Jim
