Hi Guys,
This is a fairly typical shot out P14* that the owner had me rebarrel and tidy up. I was able to source an as new Winchester P14 barrel, but had to make the cutout on the breechface for the clearance of longer locking lug on the left hand side, which was straight forward using a bushing on the barrel (made for use on the knox in the barrel vice) in the dividing head.
Headspace was okay off the bat.
The original stock had been ruined by being sanded too far, and the photographed replacement was sound but well used and mildly beat-up. I steamed a lot of damage out of it and gave it a thorough sand then finished in BLO. Staining the front guard to match, it's now hard to tell the difference.
To me it looks about right, sound and clean with plenty of character.
