If it doesn't matter then offer them separately and perhaps you'll get more money. It reduces the price of the pair and perhaps someone only needs the stock? The pistol will sell alone...

That is what i think possibly some one wants a stock/holster an might find original pistol to attach it too. this consignment has 3 colts along with this mauser. so going slow to sell want my ducks in a row.

Maybe...but with so much time between when those came back after the war and now it's hard to imagine that actually happening.

Post War Commercial. Reblued. How is the bore? What are the numbers on the stock?

Bore is perfect bright an clear with sharp edges. number on stock is 845
seams like all outside parts on pistol all have same number.
going to try an find out when it was re-finished.

It has definitely been refinished. The rounded edges are obvious from unskilled sanding, and the hot caustic finish is too dark for the original rust blueing. It is still a reasonable example though.

That all makes sense because they weren't worth much then. Really not much. It didn't matter then...

Yes browning is so right. Seam this estate has some real nice looking firearms an alot of them have been refinished. Most of them done in the 60"s an early 70's. Now at least this one can be taken to range an used like it was made for
