I went to the Knoxville, Tennessee RK show yesterday. In forty years of shows in Knoxville, this was by far the largest I have ever seen. Filled the fairgrounds parking lot and spilled over into the neighboring lots. Lots of new people interested all of a sudden in owning firearms potentially banned by new regime in Washington, I guess.
Ammo sold in great quantities with guys hoarding much of it I suspect. Lots of odd accessories selling like the parts to make look-alike assault weapons out of almost anything (10/22's, Mini-14's and 30's, etc., etc) and anything that could be sharpened. Never saw as many knives being sold at all the shows I've been to.
Germaine to this board, I noticed large numbers of M1's that had been nicely refurbed with new stock finish. Hadn't seen that many before being carried in to the show for sale, but almost none on the tables I checked and none in the condition the five or six I saw coming in yesterday. Interesting development. Have other noticed the rise of refurbs in their local shows?
Stuff was way too expensive for my, but I was selling some things I put away from before the last Dem administration and made a tidy sum on those items. Also, may have a stock job out of this show as well. WRA restoration, I think
